Wildcats Sweep Storm In Road Tilt

Box Score

Thomasville, NC - The Johnson & Wales Volleyball Team traveled to Davidson County CC on Tuesday night and returned home with a win after a dominant 3-0 performance.

The first set was the closest of the evening, but the Wildcats, currently ranked #2 in the USCAA D2 Coaches Poll, still cruised to a 25-19 win. Sets two and three were both 25-16 wins for JWU, taking their season record to 11-4. The victory gives the team wins in four of their last five matches and also marked the ninth road or neutral win for the Wildcats this season.

Toniya Scott paced JWU with 10 kills while Moana Reid added 27 assists. Lynasia Felder led the way with 12 digs followed by Emily Arends with 10.

"We're really starting to come together as a team. I like what we are capable of, and I look forward to working on more consistency from us," said JWU Head Coach Callie Phillips after the team's eighth 3-0 victory this season. "This was a good win against a scrappy team tonight."

The Wildcats return to action on October 3rd as they travel to NC Wesleyan for a 7:00 pm tip.
