Tigers Too Much As Wildcats Drop Match

Box Score

Charlotte, NC - The JWU Volleyball Team took on Benedict College on Thursday night, dropping the match 3-0 to the visitors from Columbia, SC.

The first set was the closest of the evening, with the Wildcats falling 25-21. The Tigers would take sets two and three 25-17 and 25-19, respectively. Moana Reid led the Wildcats with 17 assists while Riley Oros paced the team with 11 digs. Toniya Scott's 6 kills were tops for JWU.

"Benedict is a great team that forces a lot of mistakes and made us pay for every error we made," said JWU Head Coach Callie Phillips. "Games like this are hard to accept, but we have to let them help us improve.  As we do with every win or loss, we will learn from this and move forward."

The Wildcats move to 6-2 on the season and are back in action on September 17 at Greensboro College for a 7:00 pm match.
