Men's Basketball Moves To 3-0 In Conference Play

Swannanoa, NC - The JWU Men's Basketball Team played EMAC rival Warren Wilson College on Wednesday, defeating the Owls 122-75.

Highlights:
  • The Wildcats entered the game ranked #1 in USCAA D2
  • The win gives the Wildcats a perfect 8-0 record in January.
  • JWU's largest lead was 53 points with just under two minutes remaining in the game.
  • The Wildcats shot 64.5% from the field while holding the Owls to 40%.
  • JWU outrebounded WWC 43-25.
  • The Wildcats only committed 9 turnovers while forcing 17, leading to a 32-10 advantage in points off turnovers.
  • JWU outscored the Owls 18-8 in second chance points and 42-19 in bench points.
  • Robert Hobson scored 29 points, going 5 of 11 from three.
  • Antonio Smith added 10 points and 5 rebounds.
  • Majerle Poole had 25 points, finishing 12 of 16 from the field. He also grabbed a game high 14 rebounds
  • The victory has the Wildcats sitting at 16-3 on the season, and 3-0 in EMAC play.

"Proud of our team tonight. We got great effort from every single guy in our locker on a night when we had multiple starters, among others, out sick," reflected JWU Head Coach Dan Larkin. "Everyone stepped up and could not be more proud of the togetherness and support they all showed each other!"
