Box Score 2 Toccoa Falls, GA - The Johnson & Wales volleyball team won a pair of matches at Toccoa Falls College on Saturday afternoon. The two wins ensure a fifth consecutive over .500 season for the Wildcats.
In the first match, JWU defeated Payne College 25-17, 25-6, 25-18.
Emily Arends led the for the Wildcats with 9 kills, 4 service aces, and 10 digs. Kaitlyn Jaromin and Isabelle Lemaster added 6 kills each, while Demya Scott had 5 kills to go along with 12 digs. Niecee Perofeta handed out 13 assists, while Lynasia Felder tallied 19 digs.
Match number two went the distance, with JWU (12-9) winning the decisive fifth set 15-8 on an Arends service ace. The Wildcats dropped set 1 26-24, before rallying to win sets two and three by 25-13 and 25-20 scores. Toccoa Falls forced the final set by taking the fourth 25-13.
Scott showed the way in the second match, registering a team-high 12 kills to go along with 18 digs. Arends had 10 kills and 9 digs. Isabelle Lemaster tallied 5 kills and 5 total blocks, while Kaitlyn Jaromin had 4 kills and 5 total blocks. Lynasia Felder set a new career high with 43 digs. Logan Smith dished out 24 assists while Niecee Perofeta added 14 more.
The Wildcats return home for their final home match of the season Tuesday night when they host Emory & Henry at 7pm.
