Box Score Elizabeth City, NC - Johnson & Wales Charlotte Women's Volleyball won a match for the second time in 24 hours as they defeated Mid-Atlantic Christian in Elizabeth City on Thursday afternoon. The Wildcats swept the Mustangs by scores of 25-15, 25-17, and 25-19.
JWU used a potent attack to distance themselves from the MACU. The Wildcats racked up 41 kills and hit .280 for the match. The defense wasn't bad, either, as JWU was credited with 39 digs and 5 blocks.
Individually, Demya Scott led the way with 14 kills and 5 digs. Emily Arends added 11 kills, 3 service aces, and 7 digs. Taylor Walker tallied 9 kills, 3 service aces, and 5 digs. Lynasia Felder was a defensive star with 16 digs.
Coach Phillips was happy with the way the team adapted so quickly. "Mid-Atlantic Christian's style is very tough to play against. I was pleased with our ability to adapt to their unique style of play so early in the season."
The Wildcats are back in action on Saturday as they travel to USC-Lancaster for a tri-match with the host Lancers and Columbia College.
