Torrid Second Half Pushes Wildcats Past Pride

Greensboro, NC - Johnson & Wales wrapped up the road portion of their non-conference schedule with a 90-77 win over Greensboro College on Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened:
  • After missing their first two field goal attempts, the Wildcats connected on their next 4 to build a 9-2 advantage over the Pride.
  • Greensboro chipped away at the lead, and eventually grabbed a one point advantage of their own, 22-21 with eight minutes to play in the half.
  • The Pride led by as many as six with two and half minutes to play in the period, but JWU outscored Greensboro 8-2 in the final 125 seconds of the stanza to head to the locker room tied at 33.
  • Greensboro connected on 5 of their first 9 field goal attempts in the second half to build their largest lead of the game, 45-37 with just under 16 minutes to play.
  • From there the Wildcats took over, outscoring Greensboro 53-32 the rest of the way, including a 17-3 run that saw JWU go from down 5 to up 9 points. They went 20-27 from the field (74%) in that stretch

  • JWU shot a season-high 56.1% from the field, while holding Greensboro to just 37.3% shooting.
