Charlotte, NC - Visiting Virginia University of Lynchburg fell 97-59 at Johnson & Wales Charlotte on Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened:
  • The Wildcats jumped out to a 6-0 lead on a Sydney Wells three pointer, one of three 3's Wells would make in the first half. 
  • They increased that lead to ten at 17-7 before VUL rallied to cut the deficit to 17-11 at the end of the period.
  • JWU extended their lead to 26 at halftime, aided by Joyiah White's 6 points and 8 rebounds in the second quarter.
  • The Wildcats stayed hot from the field in the third stanza, shooting 62.5% from the field, led by 4-5 shooting from Jayla Lovett.
  • JWU scored a season-high 30 points in the fourth to pull away from the Dragons.

  • JWU outrebounded VUL 53-27, and only committed 15 turnovers.
  • Wells went for a career-high 26 points and 10 rebounds.
