Wildcats Hit Century Mark In Win

Charlotte, NC - The Johnson & Wales men's basketball team scored 100 points for the second time this season in a 100-71 win over Warren Wilson on Wednesday night.

How It Happened:
  • The game was a back and forth affair for the first 9 minutes of the half. Anthoney Ray's three pointer with 11:15 left put JWU up 18-11 and gave them some breathing room.
  • The Wildcats got three pointers from Ray and Zyrion Wilkins on their next two possession to push their advantage to 24-13.
  • Jaben Mars continued the long distance barrage with three consecutive triples  after the Owls had trimmed the JWU lead to six with seven minutes left in the period. 
  • The Wildcats put some distance between themselves and Warren Wilson in those final few minutes of the half to take a 44-32 lead into the locker room.
  • JWU continued to pull away in the first nine minutes of the second half, and after two Jaylen Dibble free throws, their lead had grown to 19 at 64-45.
  • JC Cooper's layup with 36 seconds left put the cap on the Wildcats' hundred point performance.
Key Stats:
  • All 13 Wildcats that were available for the game recorded at least one rebound, and 12 of the 13 scored.
  • JWU outrebounded Warren Wilson 39-29.
  • The Wildcats' 54.4% field goal percentage was their second best of the season.
  • Zyrion Wilkins came off the bench to lead the Wildcats with 20 points on 7-13 shooting.
