Box Score Toccoa, GA - The Johnson & Wales Charlotte women's basketball team snapped Toccoa Falls' eight game win streak with an 80-67 win over the Screaming Eagles on Monday.
How It Happened:
- The Wildcats jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the first quarter en route to a 15-9 advantage after 10 minutes.
- Toccoa Falls rallied in the first six minutes of the second quarter to take a 26-23 lead on the strength of three 3 pointers.
- JWU responded with an 18-4 run to close the half in which six different Wildcats scored.
- The Wildcats edged further ahead at the end of the 3rd quarter to lead by 16 aided by 6 straight points from Jordan Durant.
- The JWU lead grew to as many as 18 in the final stanza. Toccoa Falls cut it to as few as 8, but could get no closer.
