Charlotte, NC - The Johnson & Wales Charlotte women's basketball team defeated Paine College 64-58 on Saturday afternoon despite only having 7 players available.

How It Happened:

• The Wildcats grabbed a three point lead after 10 minutes, helped by a 10-5 advantage on the boards in the first quarter.
• JWU held Paine scoreless for the first five minutes of the second period in building a 21-14 lead.
• The Lions rallied to trim the lead to a single point with 100 seconds to play in the half but the Wildcats outscored Paine 5-2 the rest of the period to take a 28-24 halftime lead.
• JWU used a 10-4 run out of the break to build a double-digit advantage after four and a half minutes of the third quarter. 
• A Tanaeschia Dorsey jumper with 2:53 left in the third gave the Wildcats their largest lead of the game, 46-32.
• Trailing by 12 after thirty minutes, Paine cut the JWU lead to five with just over three minutes to play.
• The Wildcats made 7 of 8 free throws down the stretch to put the game away.
