Danville, VA - THe Johnson & Wales men's soccer team played to a 2-2 draw with host Averett on Tuesday night.
JWU broke on top early as
Andrew Fanelli scored off a feed from
Lucas Lesh. Averett equalized twenty-two minutes later as Anton Lindberg found the back of the net.Â
The game settled in at that point, with neither team able to dent the scoreboard despite the two combining for 27 shots, 13 of which were on frame. In the 83rd minute, JWU appeared to have found a winner when
Tighe Torgusen was left unmarked on the far post and promptly deposited
Eugenio de la Parra Polina's corner kick into the goal.Â
Averett's Hayden Brown was fouled in the box five minutes later and converted the resulting penalty that knotted the match.
Colin Starr made 5 saves in net for the Wildcats.
JWU returns to action on Sunday, October 22nd when they travel across town to take on Charlotte at 3pm.
