Fayetteville, NC - Johnson & Wales Charlotte men's basketball picked up their first road win of the season downing Methodist 83-73 on Saturday afternoon.

How it happened:

• Two Nathan Meshida baskets helped the Wildcats to a 6-0 advantage to start the game.
• JWU extended their lead to nine at 19-10 in the game's first nine minutes.
• Methodist responded with a 12-0 spurt of their own over the next two and half minutes to take a 22-19 lead
• The Wildcat defense held the Monarchs to just 4 of 13 shooting the rest of the first half as JWU took a 34-31 halftime advantage.
• Kendall Wooldridge had 5 points during a 9-3 Wildcat run to start the second half, posting them to a 43-34 lead.
• Four Wooldrige free throws on consecutive possessions gave JWU their largest lead of the game, 70-53 with eight minutes remaining.
• Methodist got no closer than 7 points the rest of the way, as the Wildcats made 6 of 8 free throws down the stretch.

• JWU improves to 2-0, while Methodist falls to 0-2.
• The Wildcats shot 48.1% from the field and 78.9% from the line (30-38).
• JWU's defense held the Monarchs to just 33.8% from the field and 19.2% from three point range.
• Jaden Scriven led the Wildcats with 18 points, while Nathan Meshida added 14 points and 8 rebounds.
• Wooldridge had 13 points.
