Box Score Swannanoa, NC - Anthoney Ray scored a season-high 42 points to help lead Johnson & Wales past Warren Wilson 106-99 on Wednesday night.
The teams lit up the scoreboard, combining for 117 first half points as the Wildcats shot 51.5% from the field, and Warren Wilson an even better 55.1%. Neither team led by more than two possessions in the first half, but the second twenty minutes saw each team build, and then ultimately lose, double-digit advantages. With the score tied at 96 and four minutes to play, the Wildcats scored on four consecutive trips to build a five point advantage, and held on from there. Key to their win was going 32-35 at the free throw line. The 32 made free throws equals the school record, originally set on 1/13/17 against Johnson (FL).
Anthoney Ray was 15-15 from the charity stripe as part of his 42 point outburst. Fred Patterson came off the bench to pour in 26 points and grab 9 rebounds. Nathan Meshida added 17 points, and Zyrion Wilkins scored 10 points and pulled down 7 rebounds.
The Wildcats return home on Saturday, Feb. 4th as they host Virginia University of Lynchburg at 3pm.
