Box Score Charlotte, NC - The Johnson & Wales Charlotte men's basketball team honored six graduating players on Saturday afternoon prior to their 102-68 win over Warren Wilson.
Five of those seniors started the game and posted the Wildcats to a 27-12 lead after nine minutes of play. The Wildcats went on to double up the Owls 52-26 in the first period, shooting 61.1% from the field. Eight JWU players scored at least 4 points in the half, as the Wildcats spread the wealth.
Incredibly, JWU shot even better in the second half, connecting on 65.7% of their 35 shot attempts. The Wildcat lead grew to as many as 39 before they settled for the 102-68 final margin.
The Wildcats outrebounded the Owls by twenty, 44-24. Anthoney Ray led the Wildcats with 21 points to go along with 4 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals. Zyrion Wilkins scored 18 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. JC Cooper had 15 points, while Fred Patterson added 13. Chalen Stafford-Gill tallied 12 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 blocks.
JWU will wrap up the regular season on Monday, February 20th when they host Bluefield State at 7pm.
