Misenheimer, NC - Pfeiffer held off a late game rally from Johnson & Wales Charlotte to win 71-67 on Tuesday night.
The Falcons used a 21-10 run over the final seven minutes of the first half to build a 44-31 lead at halftime despite 10 first period points from
Nathan Meshida.Â
Pfeiffer increased their lead to a game-high 18 points at 55-37 over the first five minutes of the second half. The Wildcats still trailed by twelve with 12:20 left before they went on an 8-0 run over the next two and a half minutes to get within two possessions of the Falcons. JWU made most of their hay during the run at the free throw line, making 6 of 7 attempts during the run.Â
JWU twice got within two points in the final two minutes, but could not cut into the Pfeiffer advantage any further.
Meshida led the Wildcats with 20 points, while
Jaden Scriven added 14 off the bench. Jaylen Beson-Hollinhead scored 11 points and pulled down 11 rebounds.
Cameron Lawson had 11 points and 7 rebounds.Â
