Late Goal Fells Men's Soccer

Spartanburg, SC - Spartanburg Methodist scored in the game's final minute to edge Johnson & Wales Charlotte 4-3 on Thursday afternoon.

The Pioneers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first half as they scored twice in a four minute span shortly before the halftime buzzer. It was JWU's turn to get a quick fire double in the second to even matters. Niklas Seguin converted a penalty kick at the 63:20 mark to get JWu on the board and then Yomar Peguero equalized three and a half minutes later.

Spartanburg Methodist's Brandon Porras restored the Pioneer lead with seventeen minutes to play. JWU's Eugenio de la Parra Polina again knotted the score in the 89th minute as he was assisted by Tristan Pringle. Porras got his second of the day, and the eventual game winner less than thirty seconds later, making the score 4-3.

The Wildscats outshot SMU 15-11, putting 12 of those shots on frame. Colin Starr made 4 saves in goal for JWU.

JWU next travels to Davidson on Tuesday, October 22nd for a 7pm match.
