Greenville, SC - Bob Jones defeated Johnson & Wales Charlotte 87-68 in men's basketball on Saturday night.
The Bruins used a 20-0 run late in the first half to break open a tight game, going on to lead 40-21 at halftime. Bob Jones shot 57.1% from the field in the first twenty minutes, while the Wildcats could manage just 26.7%
JWU trimmed the deficit to as few as twelve points in the second half, but the Bruins, on the strength of seven second peroid three point baskets, pulled away for the nineteen point win.
Jaylen Benson-Hollinhead led the Wildcats with 11 points and 9 rebounds. Malcolm Wathen added 10 points.
Johnson & Wales next travels to Jefferson City, TN on Tuesday, November 12th to face Carson-Newman in an exhibition game. Tip time is 7:00pm.
