Box Score Charlotte, NC - Visting Brevard used a fourth quarter comeback to knock off Johnson & Wales Charlotte in women's basketball on Tuesday night.
The Wildcats built a twelve point halftime advantage as they shot 41% from the field and made 4 three point field goals. They also enjoyed a plus 10 rebound differential in the first half.
Maliah Preston and
Jordan Durant scored seven points each.
JWU got a steal and layup from
Gabby Tapley to open the second half, giving them their largest lead of the game at 14. The Tornados held the Wildcats to just 4 of 16 shooting for the rest of the thrid quarter, and were able to cut their deficit to eight points with ten minutes to play. Brevard caught fire in the final stanza, shooting 54% from the field and making 4 of 6 three point attempts.Â
Durant and Preston had 13 each to lead the Wildcats. They also combined for 9 rebounds and 11 assists.
Gabby Tapley had 8 points and 9 rebounds.Â
JWU is next in action on Saturday, November 16th when they travel to Rocky Mount, NC to participate in the Jean Edge Classic hosted by North Carolina Wesleyan. The Wildcats will take on Christopher Newport at 4:00pm.
