Box Score Rocky Mount, NC - Johnson & Wales Charlotte fell to NCAA DIII 5th ranked Christopher Newport University 98-78 at the Jean Edge Classic hosted by NC Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon.

The two teams combined to scorch the nets, each shooting 50% or better from the field. The Wildcats trailed by only four points two minutes into the second quarter, but a 15-4 CNU run over the next three minutes gave them a fifteen point advantage. JWU cut the lead to eight briefly in the third quarter, but that was the closest they would get the rest of the way.

Maliah Preston led the Wildcats with 18 points. Kyrah Davis came off the bench to score a career-high 16 points. Jordan Durant had 11 points and 8 assists. 

Johnson & Wales is back in action Sunday afternoon when they face Warren Wilson at 1:00pm.
