Asheville, NC - Montreat College defeated Johnson & Wales Charlotte 85-50 on Saturday evening.
The host Cavaliers outscored the Wildcats 42-16 in the middle twenty minutes of the game to distance themselves from the visitors. Johnson & Wales struggled shooting the ball, making just one of sixteen 3 point shots and converted only half of their twenty-two free throw attempts.Â
Maliah Preston led the Wildcats with 13 points, while
Samara Britt came off the bench to score 12 points, grab 5 rebounds, and record 3 blocks.Â
Jordan Durant had 3 assists to become the program's all-time assist leader. The Matthews, NC senior now ranks first in program history in both assists and steals, and is third on the career scoring list.
