Men's Soccer Wins Third Straight

Petersburg, VA - Johnson & Wales Charlotte mens' soccer scored four first half goals en route to a 5-1 win over Virginia State on Sunday afternoon.

Eugenio de la Parra Polina opened the scoring in the 18th minute when he ran onto the end of a Luke Johnson cross and finished it to the near post. Lucas Lesh headed home the second Wildcat tally 13 minutes later off a nifty feed from Giancarlo Walsh. Luke Johnson tripled the JWU advantage in the 39th minute as his shot from the right wing beat Spartan keeper Xavier Brisbon to the far post.

Virginia State pulled one back less than a minute later to make the score 3-1, but Yomar Peguero restored the JWU three goal advantage two minutes before half time. Peguero would close the scoring twelve minutes into the second half when he finished a rebounded shot.

The Wildcats out shot Virginia State 19-9 on the afternoon.Colin Starr and Noah Pavano each played a half in goal, combining for 3 saves.

JWU's next scheduled contest is Friday, October 4th at 1:30pm versus Wake Tech in Raleigh, NC.
