Pineville, NC - The Johnson & Wales Charlotte women's soccer team opened the home portion of their season with a 1-0 win against Saint Andrews on Wednesday night.
The Wildcats were on the front foot for most of the game, taking the attack to the Knights. JWU out shot SAU 13-3 for the game and 9-2 in the second half. Saint Andrews's pair of goalkeepers Jaydin Sanchez and Karla Mendoza kept the Wildcats off the scoreboard for seventy-five minutes. Finally in the seventy-sixth,
Katie Douglas threaded a pass through the defense onto the feet of Libby Parsells who slotted it home for the game winner.
Parsells led the Wildcats with 5 shots, while Douglas and
Azalianna Absalom recorded 2 each.
