Augusta, GA - The Johnson & Wales Charlotte volleyball team picked up their first true road win of the season with a 3-1 victory over Paine College on Thursday night.
After cruising to a 25-16 first set win, the Wildcats had to go to extra points in the second stanza, ultimately prevailing 26-24. Paine rallied to win the third set 25-21 before the Wildcats again prevailed in extra points in the final period, 27-25.
JWU hit .206 for the match, as several players had great offensive performances. Freshman
Kalin Lincoln had a career-high 18 kills, as part of 23.5 points on the night. She also added 3 aces, 5 blocks, and 7 digs.
Gabrielle Bazile had 13 kills, while
Ashley Galvis-Escobar and
Erica Rawlings combined for 9 blocks.
Loshi Ward had 26 assists with
Chanel Garcia adding 18 more.
Ahmarie Young recorded 7 kills and 16 digs.
The Wildcats travel to Clinton College on Saturday, September 7th to face both the host Golden Bears and Regent University. First match is scheduled for 11:00am.
