Charlotte, NC - Johnson & Wales Charlotte saw a season-high 12 different players score as they defeated South Carolina Central Christian 80-62 on Tuesday night.
JWU fell behind early but used a 10-0 run in the middle of the first half to take control of the game. The Wildcats shot 44.4% from the field in the first half, and a
Nantambu Calhoun three pointer in the last forty seconds of the period sent JWU to the locker room ahead 40-29.
South Carolina Central Christian never threatened in the second half, as JWU's lead grew to as many as 23.
Brandon Cherry came off the bench to score 8 points in the half, while
Jakobie Ginns and
Isaiah Escobar had 6 each.
Four Wildcats scored in double figures, led by 14 points each from Calhoun and
Ethan Smith. Escobar had 13, while
Jaylen Benson-Hollinhead added 11 points and 10 rebounds.Â
JWU hits the road on Thursday for a game at Erskine College. Tip time is set for 7:00pm.
