Pineville, N.C. - Cincinnati-Clermont defeated Johnson & Wales Charlotte 2-1 in women's soccer on Friday afternoon.
The Cougars opened the scoring ten minutes into the game when Kaylee Rose fired a ball low and just inside the right post that evaded Wildcat goalkeeper
Zoe Balmer. It would take more than an hour for Clermont to add to their lead, with Alexis Taylor doing the honors in the seventy-fifth minute.
Mia Townson scored her first collegiate goal with a looping shot from an extreme angle on the right side of the Cougar penalty area to get JWU on the scoreboard with six minutes to play, but they could make no further in roads on the scoreboard.
Gina Rumschlag led the Wildcats with two shots on goal. Balmer made four saves in goal.
The Wildcats next travel to Brevard College on Tuesday, October 21st for a 7:00pm match.
