Norfolk, Va. - Regent defeated Johnson & Wales Charlotte 3-2 in volleyball on Saturday afternoon.
JWU started quickly, jumping out to an 11-5 lead in the first set before going on to win 25-19. The Wildcats used a 6-0 run in the middle of the second set to turn a 6-6 tie into a 12-6 lead. They would eventually extend their lead to as many as nine points before eventually winning 25-20. Regent responded by winning eight of the first eleven points of the third set, cruising to a 25-14 win. JWU led 17-12 in the fourth before the hosts rallied to win 25-20. The Royals then went on to take the decider 15-9.
Erica Rawlings led JWU with 11 kills.
Madison Leslie had 14 assists. The Wildcats had four players register double-digit kills, led by
Jordan Mann's 24. Chanel Garica added 15, while
Jasmine Sullivan-Thompson had 13 and
Marion Bataoel added 12.
The Wildcats season is complete.
