Salisbury, Md. - Johnson & Wales Charlotte women's soccer battled Salisbury University for more than 100 minutes on Thursday before eventually falling 1-0 in double overtime.
The two teams played through regulation scoreless despite Salisbury holding a twenty-six to two advantage on shots. JWU had two good scoring chances, one in each half, but could not capitalize on those. Their defense kept them in it throughout the game, as
Allison Bryman made nine saves in regulation and two more in the first overtime period on any shot that got past the Wildcat back line.Â
Salisbury's Lauren Chesney finally broke through with a golden goal in the 103rd minute to send Salisbury to Friday's semi-final.
JWU finishes the season at 8-8-1.
