Bridgewater, VA - The Johnson & Wales men's tennis team squared their record on Tuesday as they defeated Bridgewater College 5-2.
The Wildcats earned the doubles point by taking the #2 and #3 doubles matches.
Cayden Danzer and
Sam Cicciarello won the #3 doubles match 6-2 over Logan Garner and Coree Nicely, while
Justin Wagner and
Hugo Cossais breezed past Mark Gordon and Eli Morela 6-1 in the #2 match.
Wagner put the second point on the board for JWU by taking the #2 singles match 6-4, 6-2, while Cossais was also a straight set winner in the #3 singles tilt.
Maxwell Frederick set a new school record for match wins in a season as he defeated Steven Perry 7-5, 6-0 in the #4 singles match. It was his 8th win singles win of the season. Cicciarello provided the fifth point as he defeated Morela 6-2, 6-3 in the #5 singles match.
The win brings the team's record to 6-6 and qualifies them to participate in the ECAC Conference Championship on May 10th.Â
