Buena Vista, Va. - Host Southern VIrginia University defeated Johnson & Wales Charlotte 1-0 in men's soccer on Wednesday afternoon.

SVU's Tate Hickman converted a penalty twenty minutes into the game after he was fouled by Wildcat goalkeeper Cooper Jason. The Knights' defense made that lead hold up, as they limited JWU to just ten shots in the game, only two of which were on target. Alex Tsoukalas and Dylan Steeves each had a shot on goal as part of two shots each.

Cooper made six saves on the afternoon.

The Wildcats are next in action on Friday, September 19th when they travel to Greensboro to take on Guilford College at 7:00pm.
