Charlotte, N.C. - The Johnson & Wales Charlotte volleyball team dropped their home opener on Wednesday night to visiting Pfeiffer.
The Falcons used an 8-1 run in the middle of the first set to build a comfortable lead before eventually winning 25-12. In the second stanza, Pfeiffer slowly pulled away from the Wildcats en route to a 25-14 win. The third set saw the Wildcats battle back from a early 4-1 deficit to take a 12-9 lead in the middle of the period. Pfeiffer led 17-15 before closing the match on an 8-2 run to claim the third 25-17.
Marion Bataoel led JWU with 5 kills and a service ace, while
Erica Rawlings added 4 kills, 1 solo block and 1 block assist.
Madison Leslie had 15 digs and 8 assists.
JWU is next in action on Saturday, September 6th as they travel to Ferrum for a tri-match against the hosts and Viriginia Union.
