Bluefield, Va., - Johnson & Wales Charlotte defeated Bluefield University 78-48 in women's basketball on Friday evening.

Highlights:

• After each team scored 14 points in the first quarter, Bluefield built a 6 point advantage, 22-16 just three minutes into the second period.
• JWU closed the half with an 18-5 run to take a 34-27 lead at halftime.
• The Wildcats extended the lead to ten after 30 minutes, and then pulled away in the fourth quarter, holding the Rams to just 3 points.

• The Wildcats outrebounded Bluefield 58-39.
• Erica Rawlings scored 12 points and grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds.
• Korletta Daniels (12 points), Maliah Preston (11 points), and Kyrah Davis (11 points) were part of four Wildcats in double-figures.
• Preston also had 6 assists and 5 steals.
