Pineville, N.C. - Johnson & Wales Charlotte and Virginia State drew 1-1 in men's soccer on Sunday afternoon.
The match did not spring to life until the 77th minute when
Luis Dorta's free kick was re-directed into
Tristan Pringle's path by
Marcos Gallardo. Pringle deftly headed the ball into the Trojan net to put the Wildcats ahead. Virginia State responded six minutes later when Sebastine Daniel intercepted a clearance and slotted it home for the tying goal.Â
Each team registered six shots, with four on target.
Colin Starr made three saves before giving way to
Tyler DeHart in the final half hour.
JWU next travels to Brevard College on Wednesday, October 7th for a 6:00pm matchup with the Tornados.
