Charlotte, N.C. - Washington & Lee defeated Johnson & Wales Charlotte 9-0 in baseball on a chilly Tuesday evening.

Julian Hayes got the Wildcats off to a good start, striking out the side in the first inning. The Generals scored twice in the second and three times in the fifth courtesy of a Alex Caywood three-run homer.

JWU thrice got runners to third base, but could not push across a run.

Hayes pitched 4 innings, allowing 3 earned runs, striking out 4 while walking three. Logan Howland and Preston Whitaker each drew two walks for JWU.

The Wildcats are next in action on Saturday, March 28th when they travel to Marion, N.C. to take on Mount Saint Mary in a doubleheader.
