Charlotte, N.C. - Johnson & Wales Charlotte defeated William Peace 7-0 in men's tennis on Sunday as the Wildcats bid farewell to five graduating seniors.
The Wildcats swept the three doubles matches by identical 6-1 scores.
John Billinis and
Hugo Cossais won their eighth match as a doubles pair in the #1 match. Sam Ciccarello and
Cayden Danzer also finished a game over .500 as a doubles duo with their sixth win of the season in #2 doubles. Seniors
Michael Osornio and
Wilder Noyes formed a first time pair in the #3 doubles match and also won.
Cossais had to go the distance against Carlos Correa to win the #1 singles contest. After losing the first set, Cossais won the second 7-5, and then the third set tiebreak 10-7. Ciccarello similarly went to a decider against Peace's Ben Cuddington, finally prevailing 6-7 (4-7), 6-4, 1-0 (10-8).
