Charlotte, N.C. - Visiting Agnes Scott rallied for a five set win over Johnson & Wales in volleyball on Saturday afternoon.
JWU took the opening set 25-22 only to see the Scotties respond by claiming the second in extra points, 27-25. The third stanza again went past regulation score, as JWU prevailed 26-24. Agnes Scott jumped out to a 19-6 lead in set four. JWU rallied to cut the deficit to just five at 21-16, but the Scotties won four of the next six points to set up a deciding set.Â
The Wildcats started fast in the fifth set, winning four of the first five points, and had match point at 14-10. Agnes Scott then won four points in a row to tie the score before eventually claiming an 18-16 win.
Erica Rawlings had 12 kills to lead JWU, while
Kalin Lincoln added 11.
Madison Leslie and
Loshi Ward handed out 16 assists each.
Aiyanna McKinnon recorded 14 digs, while Alex Jackon,
Aiyanna McKinnon, and
Jasmine Sullivan-Thompson had 11 each.
JWU wraps up their season opening home stand as they welcome Salem College for a 6pm match on Tuesday, September 8th.
