Johnson & Wales University Charlotte

Krista Richard joined the JWU volleyball staff in 2022 as assistant coach.

She comes to Charlotte from Lafayette, LA, where she worked for three years as a PE teacher and volleyball coach at Lafayette Christian Academy. While at LCA, she led the Knights to to the state tournament each season, twice finishing as state runners-up. She also coached club volleyball for Cajun Elite Volleyball Club during her time in Lafayette.

Richard is a native of Westminster, Colorado and started playing volleyball in 8th grade. Through her high school years she garnered many accolades, including MVP, All-District, and All-State. She played club volleyball at Denver Parks and Rec where her team earned bids and attended USAV nationals two consecutive years. She went on to play collegiately for Colorado Mesa University.

Richard, her husband. and three children live in Charlotte.
