Nia Richardson joined the JWU volleyball coaching staff in July, 2023.
Richardson began her coaching career at Clinton College in Rock Hill, SC during their inaugural season in 2022. In August of 2023, Richardson accepted the assistant coaching position at Livingstone College where she also served as the recruiting coordinator. Throughout her college years, she also coached for Carolina Shockwave Volleyball Club in Goldsboro, NC. Nia brings over 5+ years of coaching experience to the JWU Volleyball Program.Â
She spent her collegiate career at Fayetteville State University where she was a standout for the Broncos from 2018-2022. As a defensive specialist/libero, she helped lead the Broncos to their sixth and seventh CIAAÂ conference championships. Fayetteville State twice advanced to the NCAA Divison II national championships during Richardson's four years, in 2019 and 2021. She also served as a team captain during the 2021-2022 season.Â
She graduated from Fayetteville State University in 2022 with a bachelor's degree in business administration, with a Concentration in Healthcare Management. In addition, she spends her time away from the court as a licensed esthetician & plans to continue her education and pursue an MBA
