Wildcats face the Crusaders once again

Box Score

On Saturday afternoon, the Wildcats of Johnson & Wales University would travel to North Greenville University as they looked to avenge an earlier season loss that they suffered at the hands of the Crusaders.

The game would start with both teams hitting on all cylinders. North Greenville would run their offense through #50, Paul Harrison, who had early success in the post throughout the opening minutes of the first half.

The Wildcats would also score early, and often in the first half courtesy of efficient shooting from long range. Cedarian Grier and Warren Edwards would pace Johnson & Wales during the first half as they each recorded double figure scoring totals during the opening twenty minutes.

The Wildcats defensive pressure against the Crusaders would be extremely effective as they lead to numerous turnovers that lead to easy transition baskets for Johnson & Wales University.

Johnson & Wales, throughout the first half would stretch their lead to six points before NGU would respond with a 12-0 run to regain the lead late in the first half. JWU would continue their hot shooting from long range, as they were successfully able to trim the NGU lead to just two points entering half time.

The Crusaders of NGU would enter the second half of play on the defensive, as they didn't exactly know what to expect on behalf of the Wildcats of Johnson & Wales University. NGU would begin the opening minutes of the second half on a 13-2 run sparked by strong overall play from Paul Harrison.

JWU would struggle during the second half on the offensive end of floor, while NGU would continue to hit shots at a high percentage from the floor.

Brief flashes from Johnson & Wales players Nicholas TenEyck, and Willie Perlotte were the highlights during the second half of play for JWU on the offensive end of the floor.

NGU would be successful at keeping JWU at a comfortable distance throughout the second half, Johnson & Wales would pull to within ten points late in the half but would later be defeated by the Crusaders.
