The Johnson & Wales Wildcats played host to the Wildcats of Randolph College this afternoon in the JWU Student Center. In the battle of Wildcats, the away team rose to the top to take home the win.
Randolph College entered the first half playing strong all around. Strong plays and aggressive drives to the basket, allowed RC to knock down shots and take the early lead. With a 3-pointer by DaShaun Alston, JWU gained momentum as they began to improve and close the RC lead to 2. A basket by Alston would give JWU the lead at 30-29, with 7 minutes left in the first half. However, RC would go on an 8-0 run to take a 37-30 into halftime.
Randolph College enter the second half much like the first, shutting down the JWU scoring in the first 3 minutes. RC would later go on a 12-0 run. JWU unable to get back in the game would allow Randolph College to take the game 89-59.
The Wildcats will take on Mid-Atlantic Christian University on Thursday, January 19th at 7:00pm in the JWU Student Center. Come out and support your Wildcats!
