Box Score 2 Charlotte, NC - The USCAA #11 Johnson & Wales volleyball won all six sets at the JWU Tri-Match, sweeping both Bob Jones University and Morris College in straight sets on Saturday. The Lady Wildcats defeated Bob Jones 25-13, 25-20, 25-17 in the opener, then easily handled Morris College 25-9, 25-9, 25-12 later that afternoon.
It marks the second time this season the Lady Wildcats (14-6) have defeated each team.
"Today was a really fun day," said Johnson & Wales head coach Callie Phillips. "Our team worked hard not to drop a set in our two matches. Every player saw playing time today and contributed on some level. I was very proud of our poise and execution today. We controlled our play and had fun playing as a team. Most of the time, that's all it takes for us to succeed."
Against Bob Jones, Lucy Herrmann led the attack with 13 kills while Donna Harris posted 27 assists. Johmillet Berrios led the defense with 14 digs.
Later that afternoon, Toniya Scott posted 12 kills for Johnson & Wales while Harris collected another 17 assists. Halle Franklin finished with a team-high 15 digs.
The Lady Wildcats resume play on Tuesday when they host Wake Technical Community College at the Wildcat Center. Play begins at 6:00 p.m.
