Box Score Washington, DC - Lana Truese and Danielle Doyle each scored twice as the USCAA #19 Johnson & Wales women's soccer team claimed its third straight win, a 4-1 victory at Trinity University on Sunday.
The Lady Wildcats (7-7) have now won four of their last five heading into this Saturday's showdown with USCAA #8 Florida College.
Doyle opened the scoring early against Trinity, finishing a through ball from Truese in the eighth minute to make it 1-0. In the 27th minute, the two would combine again, with Doyle setting up Truese to double the lead.
Trinity pulled one back in the 35th minute through Doris Ayala, but Truese would restore the two-goal cushion just three minutes later, finishing a through ball from Taylor Helms.
Doyle would put the match to rest in the 52nd minute, once again receiving an assist from Truese to make it 4-1. The goal was Doyle's 14th of the season.
Goalkeeper Kylie Priddy was only called on to make one save on the day for Johnson & Wales.
The Lady Wildcats will host Florida College on Saturday as part of the school's Homecoming festivities. The match will be held at Stax CrossFit in Charlotte, with kickoff scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
