Women's Soccer Falls 2-0 at Columbia International

Box Score

Columbia, S.C. - Columbia International scored twice in less than two minutes early in the second half on Saturday to fend off the USCAA #6 Johnson & Wales women's soccer team 2-0.

The Wildcats (4-3) came into the match shorthanded with only 13 active field players, but managed to frustrate their NCCAA opponents, making the Rams wait until midway into the second half for the opener.

Kaylyn Hernandez eventually broke the deadlock for Columbia International, heading home a corner past goalkeeper Jordann Kinkin in the 56th minute to make it 1-0.

Less than two minutes later, Sotiria Tsilionis sailed her shot from distance past Kinkin to double the advantage for the hosts.

Kylie Priddy made four saves for the Wildcats in the first half while Kinkin finished with three saves in the second half.  Danielle Doyle recorded the lone shot on the evening for Johnson & Wales.

The Wildcats will resume play on Oct. 7 when they travel to Swannanoa, NC, to play in-state USCAA rival Warren Wilson College.  Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
