Women's Soccer Drops Road Contest To Bruins

Bermuda Run, NC - The Johnson & Wales Women's Soccer Team battled Piedmont International University in the first game of a doubleheader on Wednesday, falling 5-1 to the Bruins.

The Bruins would open the scoring in the 17th minute when Adellah McManus finished for PIU. The Bruins would extend their lead to 3-0 on two Hayden Pacheco goals in the 19th and 27th minutes. Eboni Montague would tally for the Wildcats a minute later to cut the lead to 3-1 going into the half.

The second half saw the Bruins tack on two additional goals to cap the scoring at 5-1. JWU goalkeeper Sarah Bartlett finished with seven saves on the night while Delaney Benito led the team with two shots on goal.

The Wildcats, ranked #6 in the USCAA D2 Coaches Poll, return to action on October 5th when they travel to #5 Warren Wilson College at 1:00 pm.
