Wildcats Overcome Deficit To Take Out Lions

Box Score

Beaver Falls, PA- The Men's Soccer Team of Johnson & Wales University Charlotte finished the second leg of their three game road trip with a game vs Penn State University Beaver. The Wildcats had to work from behind, but eventually came away 3-1 victors.

A tightly contested first half ended 0-0 with the Wildcats holding a 10-6 shot advantage in the period. After the goalless first, the second half provided the fireworks. Eight minutes into the second half, it was PSU-Beaver that struck first when Romaine Thompson's long distance strike found the net. The goal seemed to wake the Wildcats, who would go on the offensive. Brandon Greene would draw a penalty two minutes after the Lions' goal. Diaje' Hart calmly stepped to the spot and converted his second penalty in the last two games. Less than a minute later, Greene would finish a headed pass from Zack Savage to give JWU the 2-1 advantage. Ian Triplett's header would ice the game for the Wildcats in the 61st minute after he found the end of the Gunner Tootle service. JWU would finish with a 26-11 edge on shots.

The Wildcats wrap up their road trip with a 12:00 pm kick off on September 8th at PSU- New Kensington.
