Two Late Goals Push Women's Soccer To First Road Win

Box Score

Swannanoa, NC - The Johnson & Wales Women's Soccer team found some late game magic against rival Warren Wilson on Saturday afternoon, scoring twice in the game's final 15 minutes to claim a 2-1 win over the host Owls.

Warren Wilson's Darrah Scott opened the scoring just over twenty one minutes into the game to give the Owls their first lead of the season. The Owl (0-6) defense made that lead stand up for the next 55 minutes before Brooklyn Cathey scored her first goal of the season to knot the score at 1. Lauren Burch netted her team leading 7th goal of the season ten minutes later to put the Wildcats (3-5-1) in front. JWU held on for the final five minutes to earn their 3rd win of the season.

Burch and Trinity Knauf registered 3 shots each, while Breann Evertsen added 2. Leah Bragaw recorded 9 saves to pick up her 3rd win of the season in goal.

The Wildcats next play host to USC-Lancaster on Monday, October 4th at 7pm.
