Box Score Charlotte, NC - The Johnson & Wales men's soccer team sent their graduating seniors out in style on Wednesday night with an 8-0 win over Warren Wilson.
Bubba Greene's hat trick highlighted the evening as three of the six seniors found the back of the net. Greene scored in the 11th minute off of a deflection to give the Wildcats an early 1-0 advantage. The two defenses stiffened from there, as the Owls (0-16) thwarted any further JWU attacks in the first period, while they themselves failed to register a shot.
The Wildcats (5-10) blew the game open in the first ten minutes of the second half. They scored four times in that stretch, getting goals from Juan Santana-Urieta, Diaje Hart, Josiah Davis, and Billy Esparza-Diaz. Greene scored twice more after that to complete the hat trick, before senior Connor Savageau found the back of the net for the first time in his collegiate career to cap the scoring.
JWU outshot Warren Wilson 23-6 on the night, putting 12 of those on frame. Senior Michael Vasquez got the win in net as he split time with James Howell. Each made 1 save.
The Wildcats wrap up the season on Sunday as they host the Coker reserve team at 3pm at Corvian Community School.
