Box Score Cary, NC - The Johnson & Wales Men's Soccer team traveled to William Peace on Sunday night for the second of two meetings this season. The Pacers scored twice in each half en route to a 4-1 win.
JWU (2-6) took the lead in the first ninety seconds of the match. Diaje Hart found Bubba Greene on the counterattack, and Greene fired a ball past Pacer keeper Jacob Smith. Peace rebounded to score twice before halftime on goals by Ivan Ponce and Reid Taylor.
Peace (4-0) increased their lead one minute into the second half when Ponce collected a rebound and beat Tanner Newport at the near post. Jorge Lemus added the final tally of the match fifteen minutes later.
JWU registered 12 shots on the evening, with 7 of those on target. Newport and Michael Vasquez combined to make 5 saves.
The Wildcats are off until Saturday, October 2nd, when they travel to Warren Wilson for a 2pm kickoff.
