Women's Soccer Blanks Warren Wilson

Box Score

Swannanoa, NC - Johnson & Wales Charlotte women's soccer picked up their first road win of the season as they shut out Warren Wilson 2-0 on Sunday afternoon.

The Wildcats controlled much of the action in the first half, outshooting the Owls 7-2, but were unable to dent the Warren Wilson goal. That changed five minutes into the second half when substitute Kamryn Douglas ran onto the end of through ball from Katie Dougles, and put the ball past Owl goalkeeper Carrigan Causby.

JWU doubled their advantage eighteen minutes later as Lauren Burch got behind the right side of the Warren Wilson defense and tucked the ball into the bottom corner of the net. The Wildcat defense stiffened in the second half, holding the Owls without a shot.

Burch and Jayden Price led the Wildcats with 5 shots each, while Trinity Knauf added 4 more. Leah Bragaw made two saves to pick up her second shutout win of the season.

The Wildcats return home to host Brevard on Tuesday, October 11th at 7pm.
