Columbia, SC - Johnson & Wales Charlotte men's soccer opened their 2022 campaign with a 3-0 win over host Columbia College on Wednesday afternoon.

How It Happened:
  • Lightning forced a 2 hour delay after just 10 minutes of game action.
  • The teams spent most of the first half getting their legs under them before the Wildcats opened the scoring with seven minutes left in the half. Billy Esparza-Diaz served a free kick into the six yard box, and Josiah Davis put the bouncing ball into the back of the net.
  • Eugenio De La Parra Polina jumped on a rebounded shot and slotted it past the goalkeeper to double the JWU lead 4 minutes into the second half.
  • Davis volleyed a De La Parra Polina cross into the goal to close the scoring in the 54th minute.
