Cary, NC - Johnson & Wales Charlotte women's soccer kicked off their season Thursday night with a match at William Peace. The Pacers made two first half goals stand up in a 2-0 win.

How It Happened:

• Peace opened the scoring in the 16th minute when Lillie Maness got free in the box and headed a corner kick past Leah Bragaw.
• The Pacers doubled their lead 27 minutes later when Dayna Kenworthy collected a rebound at the top of the 18 and volleyed it into the top left hand corner of the goal.
• The Wildcat defense stiffened in the second half, limiting Peace to just 7 shots.
• JWU's best scoring chance of the period came in the 57th minute when Jayden Price threaded a perfect through ball to Lauren Burch, but her shot was saved by Mackenzie Jones.
